Within the classroom, teachers also seem to act as facilitators instead of being conventional instructors. They promote critical thinking among students, group discussions, and also collaborative learning. Teachers encourage students not to be passive recipients who simply absorb what is presented to them. They should discover knowledge through discussion, presentation, and hands-on activities. This makes learning interactive and gives students a feeling of involvement with the topic.

One example I can recall was during our review session with the grade 9 class. Since they will be having their exams in a few days, Miss Fajar, my cooperating teacher, reviews them using a sample test. Prior to the class schedule, Miss Fajar and I would meet to discuss the test items. Specifically, we would figure out the answer for each item and look for some context clues and evidence that would support the correct answer. This scenario made me realize that making the students take a mock test alone is enough; as facilitators of learning, we have to also teach them how to analyze the items carefully to enhance their test-taking, analytical, and evaluation skills.
